How to add an AI stylist to a WooCommerce clothing site

You can add an AI stylist to a WooCommerce clothing site by placing one script tag in your site's footer, either in your theme or with a header and footer code plugin.

Here's how to do it with Pleatora, and which route to pick for your theme.

Before you start

Email us your store's address. We index your products, photos, prices and categories in a day or two, send you a private link to try Pleatora on your own pieces, and give you your retailer id for the script tag.

Option 1: a header and footer code plugin (recommended)

This is the safest route, because it survives theme updates and works with every theme, including block themes that have no footer.php file.

  • In your WordPress admin, go to Plugins, then Add New, and install a header and footer code plugin.
  • Open the plugin's settings and find the footer or "body end" box.
  • Paste the Pleatora script tag with your retailer id and save.

Option 2: your theme's footer.php

On a classic theme, go to Appearance, then Theme File Editor, and open footer.php. Paste the script tag on the line just above the closing </body> tag and update the file.

Use a child theme if you can. Edits to a parent theme's files are overwritten when the theme updates.

Check it works

Open your store in a private window. The Pleatora button appears in the bottom right corner on every page. Ask it for something you sell and check the pieces link to your product pages. If a WhatsApp or chat button already sits in that corner, move Pleatora with the bottom and right settings in the install guide.

Questions

Will a caching or optimisation plugin break it?

The tag loads asynchronously and works with page caching. If a plugin combines or delays scripts, exclude the Pleatora tag from that setting.

Does it slow down WordPress?

No. Until a shopper taps the button, all your site loads is the button itself.
