How to add an AI stylist to your Shopify fashion store

You can add an AI stylist to a Shopify fashion store by pasting one script tag into your theme's layout file. It takes about five minutes and doesn't need a developer.

This guide walks through it with Pleatora, from getting your catalogue ready to checking it on your live store.

Before you start

Email us your store's address. We index your catalogue, including products, photos, prices and categories, which takes a day or two. You'll get a private link to try Pleatora on your own pieces, and your retailer id for the script tag.

Step 1: Open your theme code

In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store, then Themes. On your current theme, open the menu and choose Edit code. If you'd like a safety net, duplicate the theme first and edit the copy.

Step 2: Paste the tag into theme.liquid

Under Layout, open theme.liquid. Find the closing </body> tag near the bottom and paste the Pleatora script tag on the line just above it, with your retailer id in place. Save.

Because it sits in the layout file, Pleatora appears on every page of your store: home, collections and product pages. The tag loads asynchronously, so it never slows your pages down.

Step 3: Check it on your store

Open your store in a new tab. You'll see a round Pleatora button in the bottom right corner. Tap it and ask for something you sell, like "a black hoodie" or "a look for the weekend". You should see pieces from your own collection, each linking to its product page.

Shopify's checkout pages don't run theme scripts, so Pleatora won't show at checkout. That's expected, and it keeps checkout distraction-free.

Step 4: Move it clear of other buttons

If you already have a chat or WhatsApp button in the corner, you can move Pleatora up or across with the bottom and right settings on the tag. The install guide lists every setting, plus a small JavaScript API if you want your own "Ask our AI stylist" button in your theme.

Questions

Do I need a Shopify app?

No. Pleatora is a single script tag in your theme, so there's no app to install or approve.

Will it work with my Shopify theme?

Yes. Pleatora draws its own button and panel in an isolated layer, so your theme's styles can't break it and it can't affect your theme.

How do I remove it?

Delete the line from theme.liquid and save. Pleatora disappears immediately and nothing else on your store changes.
